Assessment Process & Getting Certified
The IOSH Managing Safely assessment is straightforward, practical, and fully supported by STCS PK’s instructors — who provide pre-exam preparation, practice papers, and one-on-one guidance.
Attend All 7 Modules
Complete all classroom sessions over 3–4 days. Attendance is mandatory for both assessment components.
Written Examination
Sit a 45-minute multiple-choice paper with 36 questions. You need at least 36 out of 60 marks to pass.
Risk Assessment Project
Submit a practical workplace risk assessment report. You need at least 23 out of 38 marks to pass this component.
Receive IOSH Certificate
Pass both components and receive your official IOSH Managing Safely certificate — valid internationally, renewable every 3 years.

What is the difference between IOSH Managing Safely and Working Safely?
Managing Safely is for managers and supervisors — it covers risk assessment, hazard control, and safety management systems over 3–4 days. Working Safely is a 1-day awareness course for all employees that covers basic personal safety responsibilities. Managing Safely is the career-boosting qualification for HSE roles abroad.
Is there any educational qualification required to enroll?
No formal education requirements are needed for either IOSH course. IOSH does recommend that learners have proficiency in English (or Urdu at STCS PK) to understand the course content. Both courses are open to everyone.
Is IOSH accepted for jobs in Saudi Arabia and UAE?
Yes. IOSH Managing Safely is widely recognized and accepted by employers in Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, and across the GCC region. Many HSE job descriptions in these countries specifically list IOSH as a preferred or required qualification.
How long is the IOSH certificate valid for?
IOSH qualifications do not have a formal expiry date. However, IOSH strongly recommends renewing the certification every 3 years to ensure your knowledge remains current. Many employers and immigration authorities in Gulf countries require evidence of recent certification.
Can I take the course online or does it have to be in-person?
STCS PK primarily delivers IOSH Managing Safely as a classroom-based course across our 5 branches (Peshawar, DI Khan, Bannu, Rawalpindi, and Saudi Arabia). Contact us to ask about any available blended delivery options for remote learners.
What happens if I fail the assessment?
If you don’t pass on the first attempt, STCS PK offers re-sit support including extra coaching and practice materials. Our 94% first-attempt pass rate reflects the quality of our preparation, but we are committed to supporting every student through to certification.
